round and round me go
Last week was surprisingly awesome and shitty. Lots of awesome things happened, but I was feeling quite dark and moody.
I went to my first pole dancing class. Kristin installed a pole in her studio a while back, and she's shown me a few things, but this was my first class. At Crunch gym in Park Slope. The top half of my torso and my abs were really unbearable sore for many days. And I had bruises in my inner thighs, inner knees, calves, and tops of my feet. It's HARD! However, I like the idea of using fitness to train myself for a back-up, lucrative side job, AND I get to buy a new pair of shoes.
Paw (my dad, it's an old joke) finally agreed to accompany/assist me on my continuing journey to Burning Man. I mean, he is really the ideal candidate. He's a survival high desert mountain man, just one state away from the Burn, and he has all the gear. And he's my dad, and since I'm an asshole who never goes home, and he's an asshole who won't go to New York or LA, we might as well go someplace wild and psychedelic together.
I got glasses for the first time in eight years last week. Above is my first sunset with said glasses. Dr. Harris said my eyes are not that bad, but that obviously I am a perfectionist and vision is important to me....
Oh, AND Kristin got invited to do this museum-style couture show during Paris Fashion Week, and wasn't sure if she should do it, and I was like "Duh! Go!" She: "Oh, right." Me: "With whom shall you go?" She: "Wanna come?" Me: "Yay!"
I'm not sure how I'm going to pay for these new adventures, since no one is buying any LedThread these days. But I'm using these opportunities to revamp. I'm going to have a sick photoshoot at Burning Man (with actual LED thread, of course--actual name, El Wire), and then make the couture fancy perfect versions for Paris.
Oui!
